Frequently asked questions.

What is a MILE?

The unit for supporting development on MESH. You place it one MILE at a time on the MILESTONEs (features and tools) you want funded. It is a one-time payment: no annual fee, no automatic renewal.

What do I get with MILE?

The page for buyers, Master, and the WORKS build of each tool (WORKS APPS in the M menu), with no time limit. Your name can go on MESH and in the credits of the apps you back, or on neither.

How much does it cost?

The amount is shown on the order screen and the payment screen. Minds starts at one MILE, Masters comes in tens, and the amount is in proportion to the number of MILE.

How can I pay?

Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay (and PayPay for Minds). Payment is handled by Stripe; card numbers are not stored on this site.

Will the MILESTONE I put MILE on definitely be built?

It is not a promise. Placing MILE says where you would like it used; whether, when and how the work is done is decided as development goes. Progress is always shown in the MILEAGE.

What is “Left to the M”?

Placing MILE without choosing a MILESTONE. Where it goes is left to the M: it counts toward the MILEAGE total and goes where it is needed.

Can I get a refund?

No. MILE is voluntary support, and there is no refund when a MILESTONE changes or is dropped, or when a listing is withdrawn.

Can I use it on another device?

Yes. The recovery code on the purchase receipt shown after payment opens Master and the WORKS builds on another device. A link sent from a device you already use works too. Do not show the recovery code to anyone.

Does it work on an iPhone?

Connecting to the car works in browsers on a PC (Chrome, Edge) and on Android. The iPhone’s browsers cannot connect to devices, so they cannot reach the car. Each tile in the M menu shows the devices that tool supports.

Can the tools damage my car?

Reading and writing an ECU carries a risk of faults or a car that will not start. The tools give you material to decide with; they do not guarantee a result. Always take a backup before writing, and do the work at your own risk.

Can a workshop take part?

Yes, as Masters (from 10 MILE). Your workshop’s name, address, contact details and logo are listed on MESH, and owners looking for work are pointed your way.

What if I do not want my name shown, or want it removed later?

Untick “List me on MESH” when you order and it is not shown; leave the handle blank and you are listed as Anonymous. To withdraw a listing later, tell us through the enquiry form (there is no refund).

Will the tools be extended to my car, or my customers’ cars?

Write what you would like when you buy MILE, and development starts once the MILE needed is reached. If you want a tool of your own built, advice on developing it is available for a separate fee.

Can you support my tuning or troubleshooting?

Support is not offered. The approach to tuning and troubleshooting is packaged into the tools as Skills that an agent can use. Talk over what troubles you with your own agent: it learns how to use these tools and works through the problem with you. Only the BMW E46 M3 is covered for now. For another model, buy the MILE needed with the model you want noted, or develop it yourself.

Can tools be built for other makes, such as Audi, Porsche, Alfa Romeo or Ferrari?

Yes. How much the first stage can do depends on the car’s security design, the documentation that is public and how far existing tools go. The owner does the development, and the M gives advice on it.
